Salvaged Pilgrim Artifacts Will Be Auctioned Online June 12, 2020

Dana Point Harbor, June 6, the tall ship
Pilgrim tolled its bell for the last time.

During this final ceremony for the treasured tall ship, its mounted bell was presented to the family of Ray Wallace. Mr. Wallace was the marine architect who converted the Pilgrim in 1975, from a three-masted schooner.

Not only was the Pilgrim a favorite at the Ocean Institute’s Tall Ships Festival every single year, but it had been serving as a maritime history classroom for students and visitors since 1981.

Salvaged Pilgrim artifacts will be auctioned online beginning on June 12, 2020 in an effort to raise money for Ocean Institute and the upkeep of their other tall ship, The Spirit of Dana Point.

Below are just some of the items to be auctioned.
