Keynote Speaker Aliso Teal Announced for Ocean Institute’s Virtual
Marine and Environmental Sciences College and Career Fair.
Congressman Levin and Time Magazine’s Modern Day Female
Indiana Jones, Alison Teal, to Kickoff Fair
DANA POINT, CA, March 4, 2022- Ocean Institute is thrilled to announce an update regarding our Virtual Marine and Environmental Sciences College and Career Fair on March 12. First, Congressman Mike Levin will present a few remarks to our attendees to support them in discovering their studies and career paths. After, he will be introducing our Keynote Speaker, Alison Teal, for her presentation.
Named “Female Indiana Jones” by Time Magazine, Alison Teal- an explorer, filmmaker, and conservationist- will be the Keynote speaker for our college and career fair. After graduating
from UC Berkley and USC film school, she wanted to share the cultures she had been
surrounded by throughout her life. Her film series, Alison’s Adventures, seeks to educate
and entertain viewers on her worldwide adventures.
Through her journey, she was alarmed by the global plastic pollution problem. She has since used her passion for filmmaking and her social media following to help shed light on the issue and encourage change to help decrease pollution in our oceans. She was and continues to be instrumental in helping change laws and legislation regarding plastics use.
It is Alison’s mission to “educate through entertainment, bringing joy and inspiration to the kid – and explorer- in all of us.” She is doing this through a steadily growing TikTok following, her “Allison’s Adventures” videos on YouTube have over 10 million views, and she will be speaking at VidCon 2022. She has many credits to her name- including host and content creator for Discovery and National Geographic, worked with countless brands, and is the author of Alison’s Adventures published recently by Ripley’s Entertainment and Simon & Schuster.
“I’m excited to inspire youth to dive into a successful career fueled by passion, dreams, and the desire to make waves of change!” said Alison Teal regarding her Keynote presentation and what she hopes to impart to attendees.
For more information and registration, visit our website. For those interested but unable to attend, all sessions will be recorded and available for six months post-conference for those who register by March 10.
